Good morning, everyone. My name is Jo. My class is R10.
Today I want to show you the photographs of rice fields.
At Notre Dame, the 4th graders plant rice and harvest it at Yama no Ie.
Right now, I'm in the 3rd grade.
I'm going to grow rice next year,
so I became curious about how rice grows in the fields.
My apartment was near the rice fields in Kitayama.
My father took photographs of rice fields every weekend, early morning or sunset so that we can see how the rice field changes.
He took 300 pictures!!
We chose the best ones to show you today.
You can see birds and farmers.
It's amazing that craws didn't like this field.
I learned how rice grows and was surprised that the farmers grew other plants in the same field between the harvest and the planting.
First we plant the rice then water it by flooding the field. Then we leave it alone until it's full grown. Finally we harvest the rice and hung the rice over the Inaki.
I hope you enjoyed our photographs.
Thank you for listening.
